Providing a plethora of opportunities both inside and outside the classroom that allow Oakhamians to fulfil their expectations and dreams, enrich their lives and find where their talents lie, is a fundamental part of our DNA.
Philanthropy has always played an important part in Oakham School’s history. The Faculty of Social Sciences, Mehra Faculty of Science, BAF Smith Pavillion, Jerwood School of Design and Smallbone Library were all made possible by generous donations from the Oakham Community. All of these impressive facilities provide outstanding learning environments and are part of the educational experience from which Oakhamians benefit.
Providing a plethora of opportunities both inside and outside the classroom that allow Oakhamians to fulfil their expectations and dreams, enrich their lives and find where their talents lie, is a fundamental part of our DNA. The launch of phase one of our fundraising campaign marks the start of the most exciting chapter in the development of Oakham School for more than a generation. The first phase of fundraising aims to raise £2 million to support the development of a Performing Arts Centre and to increase the number of SpringBoard Bursary places available at Oakham. I have seen first-hand how these bursaries transform the lives of boys and girls for whom an education at Oakham would otherwise be out of reach. I want more children to be given this opportunity. The second phase of the fundraising will focus on the enhancement of our sporting facilities.
We have already received some incredibly generous donations and pledges from OOs and parents. I am now asking for your help to make these plans become a reality. Our long term ambition is to raise £4 million in total. Your support will contribute to a long and distinguished history of offering excellent and inclusive opportunities at Oakham School. Your help could see future generations looking back at this time as a key stage in Oakham School becoming the best co-educational school in the country - now that would be very special.
